ive been trying to get this information online but get conflicting news...from what i understand, the 360 will upconvert ONLY if using a vga cable. but i also read that you will need to get the hd dvd player in order for it to upconvert, as if it wont do it out of the box...anyone know which one is correct?

will it still work if you connect the VGA cable to a VGA to DVI adapter connected to a DVI to HDMI adapter plugged into the TV?

just curious, but won't do me any good as I am already using the two HDMI inputs on my TV...

If you're thinking of using those 2 dollar DVI to VGA adapters you get with your video card, then no, it wouldn't work. Those adapters only work because some of the pins on a DVI port are designed to output VGA signals. The adapter simply routes those signals into a DB15 header for VGA use.
