I've been fooling around with the demo, and I must say they don't make them like this anymore. Actually I'm quite impressed. Even thought it appears the game has been finished for a while, and the graphics aren't spectacular, the gameplay is lots of fun.
I grew up on this stuff. I can remember me and my friend playing Wiz1 on our Apple IIs way back in, uh, '81? The mix of old and new in Wiz8 is well balanced. 3D engine combine with the old style Wiz combat system. A breath of fresh air when compared to the inundation of 3d "RPGs" which have barely "RPG" elements in them.
I think I'll be turning to this one instead of Gothic in a few weeks. I can't wait.
