i thikn evanescence sounds more betterer.

Before people start claiming WT is an Evanescence rip-off: The latter released their first demo-CD in 2000, WT's first studio album (Enter) was released in 1997 :p

Anyway, the record company which will do the US promotion is Roadrunner:

20/12 Within Temptation in the States!

Great news! We have signed a deal with the US office of Roadrunner Records. This means that our new album, that will be released next year, will also be released in the States. We will also be touring there, which is even better news!

You can always mail them, asking whether they plan to visit your state ;)

Just be sure to know the lyrics to the song Enter if you stand at the front of the crowd at the concert, she has the tendency to suddenly hold the microphone in front of people during that song ;)

I see a couple of possible locations in the Pacific Northwest that I might be able to make it to. Heck of a trip just to see them in concert, but I don't know when I will next get a chance to see them.

I am a HUGE Within Temptation fan. Me and my roommate are planning to see them in Salt Lake City.

Btw, another thing which tends to be done at pretty every concert (but this time by the audience):

2 Unlimited - No Limit
Within Temptation - Dark Wings

As the intro to Dark Wings sounds a bit like the refrain of No Limit the die-hard fans started singing the No Limit refrain there (die-hard as in: people who have often seen them live over a hundred times, some almost every concert, including those abroad)

Meh.

Oh, and, that's not Goth Metal.

They have often said that they do not really care what people call their music, as they just make the music because they like it. Most people rank it under Gothic Metal, and they don't mind.

Yeah they're big in Europe, we got it. Thanks. But no big deal. My friend's freaking cover garage band toured Europe last year.

I like their music have spoken to them in person, and like them enough to think they deserve 'making it'. But when they were still fairly unknown I didn't like them any less for it.

If you prefer Celine Dion, R-Kelly and Britney I do not mind, and if you like Marduk, Cradle and stuff like that more I do not mind either. But I made this thread for those who do care about their music :)

Not a huge fan of them. I've listened to two of their albums, and nothing jumped out at me. My favorite band of this nature (which to me is "Progressive Female-led Metal") is probably Nightwish.

With that said, DAMN! I can't turn down a $15 ticket in my own city! What luck. Thanks for the heads-up OP.

So, what is gothic metal for you naysayers? Sisters of mercy?

Oh, and I would put Within Temptation under "gothic flavoured symphonic metal"

I just heard of this band the other day...very similar to the style of Nightwish, operatic rock. I may catch them in Seattle or Portland.
