Within Temptation (band) - anyone ever heard of them?

pretty freakin awesome job if you ask me, and their other songs are pretty solid as well.

Heard about them from my fiancee and few years ago and instantly became one of my favorite Symphonic Metal groups Bought their (at the time, new) Heart of Everything Deluxe import and I still listen to it probably weekly.

I'm not such a fan of their latest album, but Heart of Everything holds a special place in my music collection

Definitely curious as to what made-up definition you have for "nerd metal"

I can't get over at how generic they sound.

They sound fine in terms of vocals, but they are so boring to listen too. Guitarmaship is standard, lyrics are standard.

I haven't listened to them in a while, but I felt like their new album was very generic and boring. Have you tried listening to the first couple of albums?

They're OK. After listening for a while it stops sounding epic and begins to sound kind of same-ish.
