I know that windows XP contains some version of these drivers already, but do those of you who have VIA/AMD chipsets and who use windows XP even download the latest ones anymore?

Well just speaking for myself I have always and will continue to load the drivers for the chipset and the AGP driver, I do not like windows somewhat Generic drivers. At the least they are outdated,

I have KT133A chipset and I never install any extra drivers except those in WindowsXP.
For some time its working without any problems. If you ever have some problems, then
install the drivers, but in most cases, you don`t need to.

Yes I did install them, the AGP driver was a lot newer then the XP one(VIA 4-in-1 Drivers now called Hyperion drivers).

Also if you have a newer chipset installling the lastest drivers will ensure best performance/stability in general even with XP, remember XP is a few years old now and there have been quite a few new chipsets and motherboard chipset driver updates available.
