Theoretically yes. And potentially the AppleTV3 with an A5 processor and 1080P.

Nope, they are never updating it again

They should definitely be updating it this year, probably in September as usual.

I can't remember where, but I recall reading that they said they might not be upgrading it.

However, that would make absolutely no sense since the iPod Touch is still such a strong product for them. But like TheStu said, I'd expect it to be September. They've been rumored to announce the iPhone 5 then, and of course, they'll have to announce some new iPods since it's also their time.

After the way they crippled the last iPod nano I wont be looking forward to their touch. Apple may take some funtionality away like they did with the nano.
