(With Poll) If you could have ONE power...

Ok, given your current life and situation, if suddenly you were able to acquire ONE power, which one would it be?

It is assumed that you will want to continue living your life normally, and not become a guinea pig for scientists (or the government) - so keep in mind that you would probably try to keep your power as inconspicuous as possible.

Remember you can only pick one:

Telekinesis: Like "the Force" in Star-Wars, able to move objects and apply force to anything tangible and within range.

Invisibility: Vanishing out of sight, but still perceivable through other senses

Teleportation: Instantaneous relocation of your being if you know exactly where you are teleporting to. Otherwise your risk appearing in an object, thus killing you.

Mind-reading: Read people's thoughts within distance

Limited Mind-control: Think "Jedi mind-tricks", NOT Professor X. Ability to heavily "pursuade" people to do what you want -- more prone to work on the feeble-minded.

Pyrokinesis: Create fire instantly - and fireballs, if it makes this more appealing

Electrokinesis: (Ok I made the term up), basically create electricity - and lightning bolts if it makes this more appealing

Instant Healing: Such as Wolverine, the ability to heal yourself instantaneously

Shape Shifting: Like Mystique, the ability to shift into any physical shape you've had contact with

Remote Viewing: Ability to see things in remote locations (incorporates x-ray vision as well)

Flying: Like Superman (without the cape!)

Super Strength: More like Spiderman, NOT like the Hulk

Teleportation, because invisibility can't overcome physical barriers.

Teleportation or Shape Shifting. I'll have to think about it.

I like teleportation. I'd need to have a cool effect to go with it though, like "shimmering" from Charmed.

As awesome as teleportation would be, you'd imagine someone would find out about it... so you'd have to severely limit using your powers.

So I have to go with mind reading, you could do so much if you could tell what others are thinking.

The powers that Q has.

"Simple! Change the gravitational constant of the Universe!"

"And how do we do that, Q?"

"I don't know, you just do it!"

Geordi: "It's like the laws of physics just went right out the window!"
Q: "And why shouldn't they? They're so inconvenient."

But, among those powers, I think I'd go for Remote Viewing. Information can be extremely powerful.

Teleportation by a mile. Invisibility doesn't get you into and out of bank vaults or off airplanes about to crash.

I wanted time control as well :(. I went with mind control, which, implies mind reading anyways.

I went with instant healing because it also gives you either long life or perhaps immortality, if we're talking wolverine here. I figure you can buy guns for the offensive. Teleportation is pretty sweet though, and would probably be more useful for getting the job done. But teleportation doesn't really give you a lot of second chances if you do fuck up.

"These are not the droids you're looking for." I have to go with mind control.

I would take telekinesis. That's basically what Magneto does with metal objects, and look how hard it is to stop him.
