What he needs to do is stop fighting a politically correct war and use everything at his disposal to crush the insurgency.

We are the insurgency in the eyes of many Iraqis 😉
 
I think that Iraq will always be plagued by violence, but hopefully not at this level. I think that people are expecting Iraq to become some sort of utopia. I think that a democracy is going to be weaker than a dictatorship in controlling these types of events in a country like Iraq. If this 'experiment' is successful, I'd expect Iraq to be like India. It's a democracy with many insurgents/rebels (they have many, many groups) with some pretty bad human rights violations, communal strife, etc.

What exactly do you mean by that? It is very important that we don't do anything to get the rest of the Iraqis mad at us, we NEED to have the Iraqis on our side to ever win the conflict there.
 
If the whole country stood behind Bush and the war effort it would be over much sooner. Everybody has a right to opinion and free speech, but only fool can think the division isn't supporting our enemies and encouraging them to hold on longer.

Mikeford's brand of logic has always escaped me. It's a little late in the game to be asking for 100 per cent support. That was supposed to be in place before the invasion and it wasn't.

HORSECRAP... Bush could send 500,000 more soldiers in if he wanted. He is the one in control of what the military does and he is trying to fight the war with one hand tied behind our back.

The planning and execution of the this war was just piss poor.
