If bill gates were to give 7 billion of his $$ to world hunger, HE COULD SINGLE-HANDEDLY END WORLD HUNGER! Talk about the lack of concern for others. I mean, even if he did it for the pure fact that he would be known forever and not for the general welfare of the people, he would still increase his coolness by at lease 1 or 2 %

I will get the name of the book where the statistic comes from. A book I read in college (last year).

For a very short time. Then they'd be out of food again, and STILL not have the knowledge or infrastructure to FEED THEMSELVES.

Charity is pointless without education on how not to be a charity case anymore.

Bill Gates donates A LOT of money! His donations usually goto education rather than food. Feeding people with education is much better than feeding people with food. You give fish to a man, you feed him for a day. You teach him how to fish, you feed him for life.

Exactly. Also, were he to suddenly go liquid, he'd be worth maybe a third or less of his present worth.

Also, Bill Gate's wife set up a fund that gives away hundreds of thousands of dollars every week. They have 10 employees who work full time on evaluating peopple's requests for money (like computers at a Library or something like that) and then Bill's wife and the employees vote on any donations under a few thousand dollars and over that amount Bill votes if he thinks it is a good cause.
