Rant With Democrats like this in the HOR who needs Republicans

Hah, my district rep, won't bode well for him. We're Massachusetts bastard child, surprise medical bills suck.

This is probably number 1 issue for many people. Republicans and Democrats are all pissed off about medical costs and the government not doing anything about them.

At least there is an alternative proposed, but I doubt that's really practical or expedient enough to happen. Actually negotiating with insurance companies is a complex and potentially brutal world for providers. I think the only ones who wouldn't accept being paid a fair amount when billing out of network are those who are trying to take advantage of a broken system.

That's so idiotic. Americans want health care to be private, so why the he'll do they want, and expect, the government to do anything about the prices? It's what you asked for you morons!

I am seeing libertarians having second thoughts after they get five or six figure medical bills. Some of them even fly to countries with government regulated costs for treatment, that's how much they love free markets they voted for in the US.

If we don't want this crap happening constantly, then what is described above needs to be illegal.
This is why we need to get rid of lobbyists.
Imagine if we could have Medicare negotiate with the pharmaceutical companies. I could go on and on

We can't stop special interest groups from sending representatives to talk to members of Congress. That is squarely a 1A issue. What we can do is publicly fund campaigns, where candidates can raise additional money from low capped individual contributions only. Then overturn Citizens United and ban corporate PAC's. In other words, take the private money out of our politics.
