With Cougar pulled, what options stand?

I was in the middle of procuring all the items for my Sandy Bridge build when a giant blizzard blew through the Chicago, leaving me unable to pick up my reservation from MicroCenter.

Now, it seems there's not a P67/H67 motherboard to be found, yet I want to continue building. Are those of us which haven't yet purchased a board effectively out of luck until replacements hit the shelves?

All of my usual spots are completely void of all p67/h67 boards. It looks like eBay is one of the only options.

I ordered an Asus P8P67 and an i5-2500k from Buy.com yesterday and both shipped (and promptly disappeared off their site), though they've yet to charge me for the board, which makes me nervous. I've seen a few still on Tigerdirect today also.

I may be too cautious but I'm not sure I'd get it off Ebay, unless you're willing to forego the mobo swap in a couple months......why not just wait a little longer?

Like I said, www.beachaudio.com is still shipping H/P67 boards. Bought mine today, and it already shipped.

You have to search by model/product numbers, otherwise you'll have a hard time finding what you're looking for.

I guess what I'm getting at, is that it's very hit & miss right now and will continue to be so for the coming months. Until Intel refreshes the channel with updated parts, building a system is going to be tough to accomplish.

…that is, unless there's some other northbridge or a manufacturer pushes something out which uses a separate SATA controller.
