While 512GB is a decent enough space. I really need 1TB of space to install my OS, productivity Apps and other important apps, and the main chunk huge game installs. I want to keep locally needed media files (music/video/pictures) and such on a 2tb samung 850 sata drive.

The 1 i saw available was a sata based 1TB m2 ssd completely pointless. Besides Samsung ssd's and their V-Nand are the best hands down.

Older articles have said Samsung will release a 1TB version of the 950 next year (this article was in 2015 though.) Haven't heard much after that and it's been a long time. Anyone have any knowledge or source links. This product HAS to be in the works. Even without a new v-nand generation they could just pop 512GB on rear and make it dual sided as the 512GB drives are single sided. So where is my freakin drive?

assume i will get some BS PR dept response from them after taking the time to search for the correct contacts. So was hoping someone knew something I didn't.

My only guess is they are waiting for their next gen v-nand as to keep the 1TB version single sided for full ultrabook compatibility.

Some motherboards, in particular I recall reading about one with the M.2 socket on the bottom of the board, have issues with double-sided M.2 SSDs. One site (can't recall off hand, will try to find it if someone thinks necessary) users were reporting problems with Samsung SM951 M.2 PCIe SSDs with NAND on both sides as the extra thickness made contact with some motherboard electronics covered by the SSD. Changing to a single-sided Samsung 950 Pro solved the problem. It was speculated that that's why Samsung is waiting to release a 950 Pro @ 1TB because they want/need to keep it single-sided.

ok, yea 512GB just doesn't cut it if you want to install 50GB+ games on it and have them run at peak performance.

Guess that kills the hope of 2TB double sided m2 samsung ssd's when next v nand process ready.

Here it is, you can look, but you can't touch. Launch is estimated to be in the second half of 2016.

Samsung does have an M2 NVME 1GB drive in the form of the OEM only PM951, however it is a planar TLC drive with modest writing speeds, I doubt that would interrest you.
games on it and have them run at peak performance.
You may be surprised to learn that peak performance for games is not where you think it is. How does 1-5% improvement for moving from 850 to SM951 sound? And that is assuming you're interested in load times, the rest may just as well be nil.
