I still have my Sony V1 I purchased a couple of years back and I'm still happy with it. It's only 5MP and 4x zoom but that's plenty for me. It's not exactly compact like all these new ones but the manual controls/settings makes up for it.

I did have 2 cameras (Canon SD400) but decided to sell the canon. I gave up the compactness for better picture quality on the sony.

the only compact digital i've had is a canon S40 that i got back in 2002. the sliding door/power switch/lens cap on it broke. i repaired it but it still doesn't feel very solid so i rarely use it anymore.

i am excited about the LX3, in case my postings around here haven't expressed that clearly enough. i'm also excited about m4/3, though i don't think any of those cameras will be jeans pocketable, even with an automated collapsing lens.

I'll keep up with the compact camera market when I'm in the market for one.
Side note: does anyone know what Olympus' compact product cycles are like? The 1030SW looks appealing to me for compact and go-anywhere use, but I don't want to buy one a month before an update.

I'm still pretty happy with the FZ5 I bought a couple of years back, and there is nothing in the current P&S market that wows me enough to convince me to upgrade. I will probably make the jump to DSLR in a year or so.

I just pulled the plug on the Canon SX100. Easily leaps and bounds better than my 4 year old Kodak c340.

Heh, I knew I should have gotten coffee this morning :p

I've enjoy this Camera a lot thus far. It takes some great macro shots for its size, and I also love the scroll wheel interface; extremely user friendly. About my only gripe is the lack of a viewfinder.

I had the Canon S100 Digital Elph, which was one of the smallest cameras at the time. It was only 2.1MP - less than what you find on some cell phones now - and it wasn't terribly pleasant on skin tones indoors with flash. I used it for years, making decent 4x6 prints. My friends got cameras after me, then replaced their cameras with even newer ones, and some replaced them a third time before I bothered looking into another camera. They could record 30 seconds of crappy VGA video and use a bunch of miscellaneous features that they didn't understand. So, I think it's safe to say I don't bother keeping up with the race.

I did make the upgrade to a Canon XTi (though there are no new DSLR features that has tempted me to upgrade) and my sister got a new Canon SD850 as a gift. Hmm.. actually, I didn't realize it until I was just typing this that we've never owned cameras outside the Canon family.
