I love getting acused of racism IRL because I treat people poorly when they are lazy.
"You're treating me like crap because I'm mexican."
"No, I'm treating you like crap because you haven't came to work on time in a week, and I've caught you trying to steal from the resturaunt twice. That's why you're fired."
"I'm gonna ****** kick your ass when I see you on the street, and I'm gonna sue you, too."
"Better be careful about which order you do those two things. I'd love a counter-suit to discredit you further." *walks away*

This conversation was in Spanish, mind you.

While I don't support illegal immigration I can say that from what I can see here in the DC metro area the one thing the illegals cannot be accused of is being lazy. Lazy does not work 8+ hours per day shingling roofs in 95 degree heat, 80% humidity for $11.00 an hour.

I guess that is the beauty of the U.S. ... I think it's kinda cool that they think it's theirs (culterally). Even though they are wrong , there are hundreds (thousands) of cultures are present with each one allowing it's people to feel that little bit is theirs.

Really a testament to how diverse, and great a place the U.S. is. In another country if a minority printed an article like this, the gov't would probably declare war on them.

but whoever chose that headline needs to give me some of whatever they are smoking 😛 😉

America's culture varies from region to region. Actually our culture is taken from the cultures of other immigrants which is that of most of our ancestors.

Did anyone actually READ the article?

It seems most of you are simply reacting to the title?

The article is hardly "inflammatory" if one actually reads it.

Well the author does make a good point in saying that Mexico needs those people that are fighting for rights here in the U.S. If they had balls they would stand up and try to make thier own country less of a crap hole. But with the ACLU on their side its easier to do that in the U.S.

I'm sure you would have said if the Irish had any balls, they they would have stood up and stopped starving during the potato famine?

Well politics helped the potato famine become as deadly as it was but comparing the Irish to Mexican immigrants is another apple to oranges comparison. That was back in the 1840's, and I do not have to worry about illegal Irish immigrants stealing my childrens social security number or getting in an auto accident them.

Mexico has resources, money, and power which most Irish at the time did not have. The reason MExicans are fleeing to our country now it because it is a politically corrupt crap hole. You can make a case for the Mexican indians being discriminated against, but for the most part the government is doing this to their own people. Again, unlike the events surrounding the potato famine.

If the potato famine occured today, I would imagine the U.S. would send plenty of food aid and there would be no need for an influx of unregistered illegal immigrants.
