Witcher System Reqs?

Just got a brand spanking new laptop (i7 2.2GHz, 8GB RAM, 3GB GeForce 555M), and I DL'd The Witcher to play through it before I bought Witcher 2 (both via Steam). It says my system doesn't meet the minimum requirements... SERIOUSLY???

1. Are you running the latest drivers for your video card?
2. Are you running the latest version of The Witcher?

. . . Your system more than meets the minimum spec's for The Witcher 1. Steam funkiness?

Witcher 2, probably not so much.

It probably just doesn't recognize the hardware since it's an older game and that's some new stuff. If you can ignore it and manually do the settings etc. I'm guessing you'd be ok.

What's telling you The Witcher doesn't meet system requirements? You should be able to play it fine with those specs.

The Steam version of The Witcher is fully-updated so you don't have to worry about that.

It's bought from Steam. I've noticed a lot of games don't like the GeForce 555M and don't recognize it. Even nVidia won't let me DL drivers (I have to get them throught the laptop manufacturer). Will see if I can force it to run.

I used the "-dontForceMinReqs" line on the launch options via Steam. That at least got me into the game, though it seems to be stuck on low-res textures 🙁

Thanks for the help (and man the combat animations are terrible)
