Witcher 2 -- Any way to skip the QTEs

Hi all,

I just got the Witcher 2, and really like the story. However, I found it almost impossible to get through the very first set of QTEs, and that is with the difficult QTEs turned off and on easy mode. Does anyone have a way to do these better or to skip them entirely. They really annoy me, and seem just like something added on that detracts from the story and immersion.
Since I had so much trouble with the first set of QTEs, I am reluctant to even continue the game because I am 99% sure that I will get stuck on the boss battle with the Kraken or whatever it is that so many players have difficulty with.

PS. I know some users like a difficult challenge in a game, but when they make an "easy" mode, I think it should not have things like this thrown in that make it impossible to complete for not so good players.

It's a lot easier if you parry and do not attack when being attacked. Otherwise you get pwned real hard.

Are you using the default WASD keys to move your character? Assuming you are, the difficulty comes if you're thinking hit W when the W key flashes for a qte. Since normally you hit the W key with your left index finger when typing you instead have to go from doing what comes instinctively to thinking W = Up and then hitting "Up". If you have to think for qte's instead of reacting instinctively you're most likely going to fail.

The trick to doing it instinctively in TW2 is that whatever key you're using for for movement in a certain direction will flash in that direction during a QTE. Using the standard WASD for example W will flash in the upper screen, A will flash in the left of the screen, etc. So don't think about the key, just tap up when you see the QTE flash in the upper screen, tap left when you see the QTE flash in the left of the screen, etc. Once you get the hang of it it's very easy. I've gong the entire game without missing a QTE.

Thanks for the good advice. I will try that. I guess I just dont have really great vision or quick reflexes anymore. I still wish there was an option to skip them on easy difficulty--dont really see what purpose they serve.
