I've been using AVG with Sygate for quite a while now and they have been great.

McAfee 7.0 is two generations old. Don't expect state-of-the-art protection from it, even with current antivirus definitions (if they even support it anymore).

I tried both antivir and avg, antivir found 6 trojans norton missed, though I couldn't stand the interface, then I tried avg, it found 2 more trojans and the interface is much more intuitive. my suggestion would be to dowload both and try them out one at a time and choose "witch" one works best for you.

What about Kaspersky, Nod32, BitDefender?

What do you want in best? All three I mention have excellent detection.

Kaspersky -Most thorough in scanning archives, but not the most stable on some machines
Nod32 -Very light footprint, but horrible gui
BitDefender - Excellent gui, large footprint, integrated firewall/spam blocker

I wasn't impressed with AVG, still trying Avast, won't touch anything from McAfee, and haven't tried Anti-vir yet.
