Still have a couple hours here in the Left Coast.

Merry Christmas to one and to all! Hope your day was a good one whether you were with friends and family, working, or spending the day with yourself!

Thank you for the trees fellas. We did bah humbug and no tree.
Our gift was one more family gathering with my middle sister.

we have the fun gift exchange with family, where you get to steal twice before a gift is secure. 18 participants last night and much fun was had.
Our highlight:
When we were clearing out sister Kathy's home, Mary found all the scraps from the Hawaiian shirts Kathy made 25 years ago.
Brother Bill would always wear a Hawaiian shirt to Christmas, and the year he had lymphoma, she made a shirt for everyone to wear in his honor. There were 20 plus shirts I think. Mary was still sewing buttons on that morning. We sneaked out of that Christmas party one by one and put on the shirts. He was surprised and pleased.
Mary grabbed that box and had a plan. She made a quilt from those scraps, really she made 3. The big one was for Bill. Kathy cried when I told the story on her and gave Bill the quilt last night.

Mary has a quilt top put together for sister but did not get it quilted in time. She can wrap herself with those memories of that time and those shirts that she made, that almost all of us still have.

Oh wow! What a tree ❤

Thank you!

My Mom started collecting Polish and German blown glass back in the 50s starting with her mother's glass from the teens and 20s.

We grew it when we started collecting Radko ornaments together in the 90s. Now she's gone and I have all of it. :(

Humbug! Also, use plastic trees! We need less dead trees.
Don't we need more dead trees? As ong as you don't burn them they'll have captured the carbon. Non toxic and there's no nasty production methods.
I'm with lxskllr on this. Use more wood!

As long as you bury the tree in a disused mine, sure. Otherwise you're just pulling something out of the carbon cycle after a few years just to return it. Letting it grow at least let's it pull more out.

We had to cancel our xmas plans because covid started going through our house last weekend, and then I popped positive on Friday, then we got the really bad news on Saturday.

My brother in law was murdered on xmas eve down in North Carolina. He was shot and killed.

So instead of having a fun and happy holiday, we've been dealing with this and now planning a funeral which nobody in the family has ever dealt with and had no clue how expensive it is going to cost as well.

Hug your loved ones while you can. Life can change in an instant.

Sorry to hear that, purbeast0.

I've had a lot of friends close to me die, but of natural causes.

Thanks everyone yeah it's been a rough few days. I think my wife finally got some good sleep last night. Today I am getting back to work but she's going over with the rest of her family to hang and then meeting with the people at the funeral home to discuss services.
