Tomorrow morning my niece, Becky, is having open heart surgery for the second time. She has a condition called Tetralogy of Fallot, which consists of four different heart defects. She had surgery once when she was about a month old and came through with flying colors, doing much better than expected. But, as she grows, she's probably going to need at least one more surgery, when she's a teenager. But her heart, which is supposed to be ~50% the width of her chest is over 60% of it, and she gets pneumonia VERY easily as well as getting tired a lot more easily. This should do a lot to help solve the problems she's having and she'll be able to run and jump like she used to without getting tired quite so easily. Let's hope so, anyway.
So tomorrow she goes under the knife again, and my whole family's mobilizing for it, as well as for my sister's other two children. So wish her luck.
Here's a pic of her.
