Decided that it is time to get off my ass and get back into school. Am applying to University of Arkansas for my masters in Food Science with a concentration in Food Safety. Graduated in '04 with a BS in Food Science from Purdue University and have now decided that Food Safety is the career path I want to go with. After having putting in almost 1.5 years with a large food company and working in Food Safety it was not a hard decision. Now I just hope that I get in to the program.

Luckily the program is almost completely available online which means I can stay with my current job and take the courses necessary. Now I just have to convince my company to pay for my degree. Of course it should not be difficult because corporate headquarters and UofA are located in the same town and we do a lot of work with UofA.

Wish me luck.

Yes it does. I am currently a HACCP Coordinator with the company. Been doing HACCP for almost 1.5 years now and have just recently moved into one of our USDA plants. Already have my HACCP Certification and will have my HACCP Auditor certification at the end of February along with my Advanced HACCP Certification.
