Damn. PRK? I've heard terrible things about it. My optometrist actually recommended against it when he decided I wasn't a LASIK candidate (same as you, thin cornea). He decided not to take my money rather than put me through that, also mentioned high probablity of future vision problems.

Good luck.

Honestly, the four seperate doctors I talked to said that PRK was BETTER than LASIK (1 surgeon, 2 specialists and my normal eye doc). It's just not nearly as popular because of... well, all the crap I'm going through right now. If I could get LASIK, I'd have been healed by now.

Wow, hopefully things get better soon for you. I just had wavefront LASIK this past wednesday, and aside from my eyes getting a little dry from time to time, I'm great. Sorry to rub it in. :) Hope you feel better soon, I'm sure you will.

I'm pretty comfortable now, the majority of the discomfort stopped on Sunday, however my vision is still blurry. However, I'm getting the bandage contacts taken out in an hour. I really hope they are the reason for the poor vision because as of right now, it definately wasnt worth the comfort.

trmiv: I'm happy for ya, I've worn glasses longer than I can remember, contacts since high school and I just got fed up this year...

Wish me luck yet again.

I hear ya. I wore glasses for 18 years, and was tired of it.

When I went in to get my first exam done, there was a lady there that had PRK from my doctor. She said for like a week she was cursing his name because of how miserable she was. Then after that time, she got dramatically better, and her eyes were great and she was ready to kiss him. LOL. It'll get better, and you'll be happy for it. It's awesome to not have to wear glasses anymore!!!

Thanks for all the well wisheses everyone :)

Protective contacts removed and wow, even though my vision still isn't 100% (not even close) I can see a bit better now and can at least read with more clarity. My doc said "These things are pretty gunked up."

I asked him about the vision from there on out, and he said a week from now things should be drastically improved. Then after the third week, things should be stellar.

I hate being a pessimist sometimes.

you'll be fine. it takes awhile for your eyes to heal and the swelling to go away. just keep up with your drops faithfully.
