monel has it right....once u take those car decks apart, they never go back the same way

I tried to fix my dads old tape deck. You take it apart thinking 'I've almost finished' and then you have a look inside and see bits of plastic and metal that look alright and then you think 'what the f*** do I do now?'. So then you decide that you don't want to stuff it up further and put the lid back on and put it back in. Then you think 'well that was a waste of time!'

I beg to differ..
A while back my brother fixed a really nice Clarion and gave it to me for $20, all he did was open it up, saw a bad transformer, replaced the transformer with one from an old cassette deck and it worked beautifully..
Now I have a nice CD player that I got for next to nothing..
