A few of my friends and I decided while eating lunch the other day that it would be cool to go to Boston this weekend. (we're in central NY) Guess we're gonna see some concerts, watch some movie that's only playing out there, and get hammered off our asses. See ya'll later!

go to the barking crab or boston beer works... a bit pricy, but great food, great beer and great location 🙂

"I love that dirty water..."

edit --> typo, "barking" crab, not boston crab 🙂

HELL YES

(northeastern student right here)

You know those drunk asshole college kids yankees fans hate when they go to red sox games? I'm one of them. 😀

Oh, and be sure to take a walk down Newbury street, and check out the ferarris/lambos/bentleys. Its damn cool to see them in person, except there usually some doofus guarding them...

once, a long time ago. I remember going on a whale watch and that's about it. I'll keep that in mind, thanks. I do remember the DUCKs from back then. They are cool 🙂

oh, and one more thing...got room for one more? 😀 😉

welcome to boston...lol

weather should be good this weekend...not terribly hot

uh, beware of bad drivers...

go to cape cod, it kicks ass...great seafood found there imo (and I don't even like seafood)

i'm a college kid but i dont get hammered so i can't help you there...

enjoy your stay!

Two points:
-If I was over 21 or around this weekend I'd meetup!
-Dispatch is atrocious (My advisor from HS was the bro in-law of the guitarist and they played our school 3 times while I went there). If you like wearing polo shirts with birkenstocks and are upper or upper-middle class then they are perfect for you.

Sure, meet us at Thruway exit 33 at 3:30 today 🙂

I'm planning on going for a run while I'm there too; don't suppose anybody knows of any good trails around there? We're staying in a hotel in Somersville I believe. Someone told me to run the Boston Commons so I may end up doing that.

oh, almost forgot... make sure to visit quincy market, check out the break dancers (Sat. night), and hit up the North end for yummy italian food... also, mike's pastries... mmm 🙂

You are gonna have a great time. Although I am going to have to disagree with moshquerade on the Ducktour suggestion, they are extremely overpriced. Last time I went on one it was like 25 dollars a ticket. Save your money for some good New England seafood. If you are into historical stuff there is an amazing amount of stuff to see. Also, you might want to go to chinatown and checkout Fung Wah buses in NYC, they charge 15 bucks per trip to Boston (or 30 roundtrip). I always use them whenever I go to NYC, it's cheap and the buses are comfortable (although PACKED!).

He said he was from central NY state, not NYC.

don't forget your yankees cap

lol. tell me about it, i flew to boston last week for an interview (i live in nyc) and i see everyone having a red sox cap or something, you think new york is crazy with yanks? just go boston and see even the bums on the street, the cabbie drivers, the little 1 year old baby with red sox logos on their caps, shirts etc.

i think mets is screwing the yanks over by splitting up the new york fan base... 😀

if you're >21, check out the Sunset Grill in Allston. its got like 500 different beers. Including Arrogant B@stard on tap!

i've been to both the midwest and sunset grill - both pretty good. if you have a lot of people with you the midwest grill is fun b/c of the way the food is served but otherwise i'd recommend the sunset grill first for the kickass beer selection (food is decent too).

Yea the food wasnt bad, and our waitress was pretty good looking and helpful with our beer selections. I just wish it were a bit closer to downtown.
