i w00t in your general direction

I'm leaving work @ noon to play in my match play match for golf league. It's against an older, more experienced golfer. Last year I upset someone in the first round so I'm hoping I can pull it off again. It's a beautiful day here, absolutely perfect for golf.

Please send me some karma - good or bad, whatever you choose.

Yours in Nef,

Melty.

May the wind guide your ball to the right hole, and may your enemies get trapped in sand and foliage.

Good luck dude. I'm playing for the first time next month in a 4 man scramble IT golf tourny at work. Should be fun.

Couple 's and you're licensed to kill. I'm more of a tennis guy (but I play, well, try to play some golf every once in a while).

Thanks all. :beer:s after the first 9 is my plan, that way I'm not already overly annoyed by my bladder at the turn.

Gotta log off and do some work for now - thanks - I will hit a straight shot for everyone and post back to let you know how it went.

*pounds fists with ATOT*

may my shots per 9 equal my PPD!

damn i  this place

Rock him. Play smart, and if you want his knees knocking later in the round, give him a 3-4 footer at the beginning (i.e. don't let him practice). Once he has to perform on the last few holes, you can crank up the pressure.

I love match play. So far this year I am 4-0 in our league. It is all based on handicaps, and though I'm a low handicapper, and I've been having to give away strokes (up to 12 for nine holes!), I have been playing great.

As for the , I usually wait until after, I have to christen every third tree. The liquor works well to soothe the nerves, but I canna do da beers until afterwards.

Let us know!

It's 3 club night for me. Nothing like only being able to play a 7 iron, 53* gap wedge and a putter........Should make for an interesting round. Good thing it is only 9 holes.

Well I lost the match on the 18th hole. :) it's all good - it was a great match and he deserved the win. He was a nice guy too which is great - just what I needed, another Thursday night drinking buddy!!

quick snippet of the TSN turning point for golf fans:

14th hole: he has a 5-footer for birdie to go 2 up. i'm in with a bogey so unless he 3-whacks it, i'm basically screwed. HE THREE PUTTS! omg. still alive.

15: par 4 - he hit a good tee shot down the right side. i sliced mine deep and ended up on the wrong side of some pretty tall trees. hit a PW over the trees to 8 feet for birdie, opponent = 0_0 "wow". 2-putt par for me, bogey for him. back to even for the match.

16: par 3 - we both hit the green but i was away. my uphill putt came up about six feet short! so i had lots of work left for par. he then proceeded to hit a 25-foot uphill breaker for birdie on the toughest green on the course. truly an amazing putt - back to 1UP for him.

17: par 4 - with nothing to lose, i munched my tee shot and cut the corner on this dogleg, leaving me only 65 yards or so to the pin. i put it to within 10 feet and 2-putted for par and he bogeyed. back to even going to the last hole!!

18: par 4 - hit my best drive of the day here. he hit one a little shorter, but after our approach shots, we were both looking at a short chip & putt for par. the difference was - i hit my chip a little deep and ended up 2-putting for bogey, and he got up and down for par and teh win.

thanks for the well wishes guys! i ended up shooting 42-43 / 85 and i am pretty happy with that. our handicaps were only 1 stroke apart (12, 13) so it was destined to be a close one and it was, and a lot of fun. be sure to share your golf stories here guys b/c i love reading them.

I envy you Melty.
I coach a girl's softbal team and last night was our first practice. I had more fun than humans should be allowed. :)
It took hours to wipe the smile off my face in spite of all my various aches and pains.
Have fun bud!!!

thanks guys.

Changing the summary won't cut it. Gotta change the whole title for "Evylin Woodhead Sped reading course" crowd.
