It's too bad the IT people at most schools don't know enough about computers to realize what they could do for the benefit of mankind by putting their CPU power to use with research into astronomy, medicine, or some other useful science, let alone fix the standard problems that occur every day (one story I remember was about a teacher who's computer wouldn't print, and the admin was about to reinstall the OS after doing about zero standard troubleshooting steps, when one kid thought to check behind the computer to find the printer cable unplugged; the admin was ready to send the kid to the principal for "messing with the computer" until the teacher interceded). :(

Works that way with most administrators, they think they know more than their experts.

And sadly I am both :)

"benefit of mankind" , No, that's Evil and a Felony crime in America.

"the admin was ready to send the kid to the principal for "messing with the computer" until the teacher interceded."
