Really would like to see that - after all this is the biggest performance increase for most systems today that are coming from rpm HDs.

Do the new Vertex turbo drives significantly outperform the older ones? Or is it more of a marketing thing.

Thinking of getting the 64GB turbo for my lappy.

I read a few reviews, and the Turbo drives seem to be a regular Vertex with a controller overclock. They run at something like 200MHz instead of 166.

It looked like a 5%, MAYBE 10% increase in sequential reads / writes over the regular Vertex. I have no idea about random access times. Overall, if the Turbo was within $10-15 of the regular Vertex, I'd grab it. Otherwise the vanilla version should be plenty.

In real world use you wouldn't notice the difference between the Agility, Vertex, or Vertex Turbo SSDs.

You'd only see differences if you're running benchmarks all day.

Get whichever one is cheapest, if going with OCZ...

I think that's good advice guys - thinking of getting maybe a 30 gigger if they fall to $99ish anytime soon to start.
