there is a P4 3.2ghz laptop with a 4200rpm drive

I am going to put in a P4 2.53ghz northwood and a 7200rpm drive into the laptop.

system currently has 512mb RAM, just office applications running like Office XP

longer battery life, laptop won't cook as much heat...?

smart move?

Yea sell quick and get a Pentium M deal from dell.. keep you eyes on hot deal sites like gottadeal.

leave the 4200rpm hdd in and put in the 2.xx GHz cpu, if you want a littl extra battery life, although it won't get you much. like others stated, dtr cpus = bad battery life

what the heck is a DTR cpu? a Pentium M will offer better battery life, but at the cost of performance compared to the 3.2?

Id keep the 3.2GHz cpu and add the 7200rpm drive. Might as well max out the performance since you won't be saving much batery life to begin with.

you can always get a giant external battery instead..since ur laptop is already giant.
valence n charge or something...
