Wisdom tooth question

Mo0o

Lifer
One of my wisdom teeth is coming in and it seems to be pretty straight. Recently its feeling a little sore but i also feel the gum slowly retracting away. Should i just let the tooth run its course and just wait out the pain/soreness or is it necessary to get it removed?

Obviously i should see a dentist but i dont have dental insurance and dont want ot see one unless aboslutely necessary

Everyone has to get their wisdom teeth out, better now then when you're fifty.

so no one ever just let's it grow out?

I think some people can let them grow in and then they have to be removed, but I think it goes that most don't grow in like they should hence the removal.

But I'm in no way a dentist so what do I know. 😛

Well worst that can happen is that it grows out, affecting the tooth directly below it, affecting the alignment of one of your jaws, and making your teeth crooked. Removal is a very simple procedure as they just numb the area, get that drill thing, section the tooth off, and yank it out. Plus it's free if you know the right people.

Visit a dentist and get a *professional* opinion?

Personally, I had all four come in in varying states. 2 were fine (bottom left and top right), 1 was slightly impacted (top left), and 1 was bad (bottom right). They didn't hurt much at all, though I did notice after having them out for a couple days I felt significantly fewer headaches and occasional seemingly random jaw pain was gone. That alone makes it worth it for me, even though the dentist fubar'ed up the anesthesia...
