You need to go to the dentist.

Also, if they have already emerged one of two things will happen. Either you will feel the tip of the new tooth, or there will be a large mound of tissue sticking up where the tooth is (this is caused by the tooth pushing your gums up instead of cutting through them).

Also, I believe most people have at least one come in. Sometimes one or more will never push up. Usually they remove all of them (always, always have them do it all at once) to prevent problems. They tend to crowd other teeth or grow in at off angles. If they grow in at an odd angle, it will totally jack up your jaw (knock other teeth out, push against your jaw bone, etc).

You need to have x-rays taken. Also, they might erupt even later that age 18. They can be impacted and not show, or have not even erupted. No matter what, get them removed. You don't need them and they are hard to maintain. I will be a DDS in 2 weeks.

why in 2 weeks?

when did your parents start having problems? That usually can be a good indication of when yours will start pushing up.

They are your third molars. Molars are the large flat teeth at the back of your mouth used to chew up food. So count back to where the third molar would be (or is) and feel with your tongue.

Congrats! 🙂

Note to OP: I felt mine coming through (not all at the same time). It hurts like when you got your other teeth. ABout a year ago, I ended up getting one of them pulled. The other 3 are still in my mouth and I am (gasp!) 39.

does everyone grow wisdom teeth eventually?

Once again, a gynocologist would be able to tell you. Schedule an appointment now.

Been a while since I've laughed out loud at an ATOT post. Congrats, sir.

Does that "third" include the premolars?
I had 4 teeth removed when I was younger, to make room for tooth-shifting when I got braces.
There's the canine tooth, then 4 more teeth, at least in my mouth.

I guess I was one of the extreme lucky..... Other than not having any **LOL**

When I was about 20, the dentist told me I would have to have my 2 Wisdom teeth removed "VERY soon......... (they were just breaking through the skin)

Long story short:

That was 12 years ago. Being 32 now, I just had my yearly cleaning/inspection. Dentist told me the bottom and top left are fully grown in and look awesome. He also said I had a bottom left one that was not through yet but noted it was'nt going to be a problem 🙂 Oh, and No Cavities!

PS: I was told many horror stories about extracting Wisdom teeth back when I was 20. ***doing the safety dance***

LOOK at this PAGE
Its the third molar.

I never knew what wisdom teeth were until my dentist showed them to me.
Mine grew out normal so I never felt the impact.

Man, back of my jar hurts like hell today all of a sudden. I'm not sure if it's wisdom teeth, or something else. 🙁

can't work because of the pain. 🙁
