Go to your denist and ask for perkaset. Way better pain meds then what you have.

They gave me vicodine (sp?) for my pain. Powerful stuff that was :p

Oh, and may I personally recommend mashed potatoes as part of your diet for a while?

I have used Lortab's before, just not when I needed them :)

This is gonna be a dumb question, but how do you know when you need to have your wisdom teeth removed?

i was having slight pain and i thought it was a cavity

x-rays showed that my bottom wisdom teeth were growing horizontally right into my regular teeth causeing pain
if i would have let the teeth keep growing they would have forced all my teeth to move around and get out of place

WHATEVER you do, if one starts to hurt more than others, call the dentist back. you can get a "dry socket"
which is very very bad. he/she probly warned you about that, tho, yes? don't eat ice cream, cuz you don't know when the pain meds will just -up-and-quit. personal experience talking.

good luck

I think dry socket is only a problem when your wisdom teeth are taken out after they've been exposed (not covered by the gums). Mine were still behind the gums when they were taken out so I had no problem with dry socket at all.

I could be wrong, though.

Dry sockets are when the bone is exposed and are supposed to be pretty painful. Luckily I did not have a problem with these but if you get one, go back to the dentist immediately.
