Why is voter turnout so important? There are lots of people that don't understand the issues presented, or the positions of the person they're voting for. How is uninformed voting better than not voting?
Don't vote unless you understand what you're voting for. Stay home and let better informed people make the decisions. The idea that a million uninformed people will make better decisions than one who knows what's going is ludicrous.

This is the fundamental flaw in democracy, the idea that you can increase a sum by adding zeros.

Hard to see your boy getting the presidency if you could have eliminated uninformed voting.

By this "logic", I could insist I'm the only one who understand things properly, therefore everything should be decided by me. We could all come to that conclusion - then what?

You mis-spelled uninformed. uniformed voting would be something else! (Only those wearing silver shirts getting to vote?)

I don't disagree but a certain political party has created a cottage industry suppressing the votes of people like me. A series of studies were done 10 years ago. Fox News viewers were the MOST politically misinformed. SO if we can block them, maybe.

One thing we don't want in this country is minority rule. More people voting is in the spirit of our democracy.

Based on your logic or thought process or whatever you want to call it and your post history, do you think you would be allowed to vote under your own rules?

To be clear, our entire system is based on the ideal that ALL citizens participate.
Even the stupid ones. Even the misinformed ones. Even those with disabilities that prevent them from understanding basic concepts.

Your question is indicative of a position that violates the very foundation of this country and everything that we represent.

There is a reason why people aren't required to take tests prior to being able to vote.

Interesting that immigrants who pass the US citizenship test are a whole lot more informed about the importance of voting than many citizens who were born and raised right here in this USA of ours. These folks had to earn that right whereas a lot of other "born and bred" folks just take it for granted, not paying any attention at all to what a privilege it is to have a say in how our nation is run and would rather leave it to a dictator to tell them how things will be.
