Wiring Q: Is it possibble?

I messed up my little black bottom part that plugs in the motherboard pin that comes out of the case power switch. I noticed it is the same bottom connection as the case pc speaker. So i was thinking of cutting and stripping a portion of the wire on the case switch, and then taking the bottom of the speaker cable..and wrapping them up with some electrical tape.

would it work to get my switch working again?
