Wiring house for ethernet

pontifex

Lifer
when I bought my house 3 years ago I bought stuff to wire the house for ethernet (1000 ft of cable, faceplates, LAN tool kit, 24 port switch, etc).

I never did anything with it. Everything is still in the boxes. Almost $300 spent for the stuff and I don't think I'm even going to use it. I really have no need for it as most stuff is wireless.

Thinking about selling the stuff but not sure where or who would buy it. The cable would probably be expensive to ship due to weight.

You can put the cable on craigslist and sell the rest on ebay. What brand switch is it? If it was me i'd wire it all anyway. Wireless is OK when it's working but it can drive you batty when it's not working correctly. The speed is also nowhere close to wired speed. That might not matter to you though.
