Is there a part I can buy to be able to hook up a fluorescent light to a normal wall socket? I think this is a T12 ballast.

Let me guess, you bought a fixture that was meant to be hardwired and want to plug it into a socket.

Yes, I couldn't find any with a socket. But I'm going to check out some other hardware stores, when I get stuff needed to plug it into a socket.

Orrrrrr

Find a cord to something you no longer care about.

Chop it.

Wire it.
Black to black, white to white.

Lots of electrical tape

VOILA!

So I just unsheath the individual wires from a cord and shove them in?

How about showing us MORE of what you're trying to do?

MUCH more info is required to give you a GOOD answer to your problem.

this is going to end in disaster/fire/loss of life

happy 4th!

Hell yes...if you can't have fireworks, then settle for a working fire!!

OP, based on the fuzzy, out-of-focus pics, that is NOT a T-12 fluorescent ballast.

Ballasts look like this:

That MAY be a connector plug of some kind.

It's the connector plug. My Dad helped but wanted to solder the cord wiring first before shoving it into the connector since the cable is not solid. It works fine now, and I learned a little about electricity. Thanks.
