Wiring a HD44780 based lcd for parallel port connection?

Can someone link me to some directions or an easy guide to do this, i know theres several ways to wire this i just want the simplest or a very well explained one. Also on this site they remove the "poloroid" off this lcd and put new one on and it inverts the display, what kinda paper is that how does that work? Also is there anywhere good to get lcds? I see them on ebay 2 for 12.99 + 5 shipping, these will fit in a case bezzle too 🙂

The polarization layer is what they are referring to, an LCD works by polarizing one way, then 90 degrees differently when an excitation signal is applied. Two polarization filters oriented the same way can be seen through, though when 90 degrees off they are opaque. What rotating the filter does is change the opaque direction.
