my desktop and my two laptops are running win xp. desktop has a pci network card and the two laptops have a wireless pc card. i want to network all three so i can share files.
do i set up a home network or a wireless network in xp? thanks

neither
your router should assingn each computer the same IP each time they connect, so just go to run \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
this will bring up an explorer window of shared folders on that IP
from here, for easy access, you can map the folder you want as a network drive, or shortcut if you dont want a network drive disconnected message each time you turn off one of the connected systems
