wireless USB Vs. PCI

or is one even better than the other?

i recomend USB because of versatility and the antena isn't mixed in with a bunch of power cables in the back of the computer

what do you think would work best?

I like PCI cards with antennas that attach through nice long cables. Like this one.

i see, does the PCI interface seem to work better?

my friends don't have a lot of trouble with their D-Link USB adaptors

There use to be problems with the 80211b Wireless USB adaptors. The 801.11g are stable and work well.

PCI might be a little faster than USB with good external Antenna. However, PCI takes an IRQ, which might pose a resource problem in some systems.

As a rule of thumb if the Wireless client is in a close proximity to the source. I usually use USB, if distance might en an Issue I use PCI that give me the flexibility of good omni or directional Antenna.

The USB one might use a little more CPU time, but overall they should be about the same. Getting one with high quality drivers will be more of a problem.
