Wireless Tv Tuner

I am playing around with a External AV tv tuner box at work right now. You plug in a coax cable to it and then plug in a usb cable to a computer. It works just like a TV tuner card but its external so it works with a laptop. Is there anything out there that works the same way but sends the signal wirelessly to the pc instead of using a USB cable? I did a search on google and could not find anything, they all use their own reciever at the pc or TV.

The reason I would like it to use my wireless NIC card is obviously so that I could just buy the one box and configure multiple computers in my house to watch tv on using a wireless card that they already have for internet. Does something like this exist and if so, how do they work?

There are programs that will let you stream tv channels over ip, then you can do watch it on any computer that has a video player. A friend used to stream over NBA games to me from his house. I don't remember the program's name.

Also, ATI has streaming software for their ATI TV tuners. It can stream video to other people with ati software installed also. They may also need an ati card.

Thats not really what i'm going for. The goal is to be able to open up whatever piece of software(like my current tv tuner card Software) and select a wireless card as the input device. I know this would make that device not able to be used on the internet at the same time, but thats not really a problem. usb wireless cards are easy to get and i already have one i can test with. Buying a $15-20 wireless card would be much easier than buying another reciever or tv tuner card or TV itself for each room(I am living with 5 guys in a house).

If something like this doesn't exist, maybe someone should invent it 🙂
