Is there such a product that connects to your PC through wireless connection and works as tablet so you can move around with it?

For a hardware device, there's nothing that really fits the bill as far as I'm aware. However for software you'd be looking at remote desktop software such as Windows Remote Desktop and VNC.

I was thinking of something that would allow me to use my PC on bed with all this touchscreen win8 stuff. :)

Ahh. So RDP on Win8 includes a new version of RemoteFX, however as far as I know there aren't any clients besides Win8 itself that implement the client side of that. So RDPing into a Win8 box with a tablet is going to be a messy experience as far as I can gather.:( But you can always give it a try; there are a number of RDP clients for both iOS and Android.

Is there any hope for a wireless touchscreen monitor to exist in the next 12 months?

Maybe. We'll have to see how quickly tablet developers update their software for the new version of RDP once Win8 ships.

iPad + Splashtop?
The problem with Splashtop is that it doesn't support multitouch right now (since it was made for Windows, and Win 7 doesn't support it). It technically works, but you're mousing with a touchscreen, which means Win8 won't behave as if you have a touchscreen.

I use 2X Client Version 10.1.1206 (might be a newer version) on my Kindle Fire (Android OS) to RD to my Windows 7 box from anywhere in the world. So far it's the best I have found for my use.
Downloaded from Android Market.

Sounds like it works quite well but I think a directly connected monitor would be a lot more responsive and without the added price/weight of extra components. I wish I could have a 10 inch samsung amoled display for this. Heck I'd play games on that with any kind of delay.

Yes, no native Windows multitouch in the remote connection but the application itself has multitouch which mimics some typical actions.

No idea how well that translates into a Windows8 session, but I would think rather nice.

Found this:
"Windows 8 also brings increased support for multiple monitors, The Developers Preview of the new OS includes first-time capabilities for extending the taskbar across two PCs, without any need for third-party apps. You can also stretch wallpaper across two monitors, or display the Start screen on one PC and the desktop on the other, for instance."

Connect Win8 tablet to a desktop as a second monitor?
