Wireless to or not to?

I will be building a computer this summer and currently I am shopping for a keyboard and mouse. I have read a few reviews and gotten some hands on at Best Buy. Of the brands of mice I like I like the feel of Microsoft Mice. I am staying away from wireless mice because I read they lag too much for gamers. Also they are heavy.
My favorite brand of keyboard is Logitech. I choose them because they seem to be the quietest (important to keep the sleeping roommate happy). I am thinking the cordless keyboard Logitech Cordless Keyboard is a good option for me. I am not looking for all the short cut keys so don't try to change my mind :p
My questions are what are your opinions on wireless mice for gaming? Is there any lag issues with wireless Logitech keyboards?

Don't go wireless if you're a hardcore gamer. And whatever you do, do not go with Microsoft for a wireless mouse. I've posted about the MS wireless optical here. If you're not too particular about mousing perfection, then go with the Logitech Cordless Optical Freedom set (the nice black/silver one). It works great. Perhaps you should consider one of those Logitech Dual Optical mice.

i got that logitech kb/mouse combo (wireless)

the key board is great.. but i seem to have some problems with that damn mouse... it suddenly ceases to work.... i already returned it once.. but it happened again.. i am going to ask ppl here about that..

I also had the microsoft wireless intellimouse.... felt great.. but had toooo much lag for games..

the logitech mouse was ~okay~ for playing games.. actually i didnt have any problems with it.
