We have a big (and pricey) Savin multifunction printer with the lcd screen, ethernet, etc etc on it, but no ethernet port close to it. Boss doesnt want to spend money to put another ethernet port there right now so I was thinking maybe doing it wirelessly.
I figure it would be a great benefit having this hooked up to the network. Currently half the people use their own inkjet printers in their offices. I bet the cost per page vs. the Savin is a big difference.
If I have a wireless access point on an ethernet port and this http://www.linksys.com/products/product.asp?grid=33&scid=36&prid=603 connected to the printer, will the printer be available to the network? It also has a parallel port but if it already has a printer server on it, I'd rather use that (might keep some of the advanced funcationality intact?)
Might be a bit cheaper and getting an access point will help a few people that have laptops.
Will it work?
