Hi everyone....does anyone have any suggestions for a great wireless product? I need something that can allow my laptop to go up 2 floors and possibly the exterior of my office..any ideas? Also, I need a product that can hook up 5 other laptops...I'm told this is the site for the experts..

Thanks for your expertice!

I've heard good things about the Linksys WRT54G. If this is for casual web surfing/net access, a wireless B solution is recommended, but for speed and reliability i.e. file transfers, a wireless G solution is preferred.

G is so cheap now it would be stupid to use B. I recommend the Linksys WRT54G. I have one and its great. Has all the features I want and its up to 54mbps. They can be had for rather cheap (I picked up one for $100 CAN).

You also want G for WPA.
I have had success with 4 SMC 2804w's (around $50 or so after rebate at buy.com, etc).
I have one myself that I uses for very sporadic WIFI @ home ( I have a snapgear SME 550 for my firewall). My I set up the SMC for my parents, they have 3 connected via cat5 24x7 and 2 via wifi 24x7, NO problems.
