wireless speeds vs wired....

I just got a new router (e3200). When I download stuff on wired, it maxes out at 600KB/s, but with wireless, it is 1.1MB/s. Is this right? I do not have a gigabit ethernet card, but I remember back when G was the rage, I could never hit 100KB/s over wireless. i would think that with noise and everything, wireless would still be slower, even with the higher speed of N.

sounds right for a low end 150mbps connection. if you bump up to 300 you should get 16.5 and 450 about 22-25.

i get 16.5MB/sec all day long over 300(dual band)mbps 2.4ghz wifi on my WZR-hpg300n

wow....I should try to catch up more. I am so used to "screw wireless, just do wired". Without gigabit ethernet...what am I supposed to do 😉

wired is more stable, but wireless is getting MUCH better.. . Then again i'm still running PATA, so i barely max out my 100mb connection on transfers and can't take advantage of the 300mb Wireless or gigabit . . . . so sad!
