Wireless speakers....?

Earlier today, I was approached by my mother about purchasing wireless speakers for my father for Father's Day, apparrently, she was some advertised by The Sharper Image. :roll:

Fortunately, she did ask me first, and since I am far from an audiophile, I need to ask the collective wisdom of AT....

Now, I KNOW that sharper image is a centralized warehouse for shodilly made ripoffs, so my question is,

1. Are there any DECENT wireless speakers out there? They don't have to be great, but they should be reasonably priced. Looking at the SI circular that got handed to me, it was $150 for two speakers, and they look TINY. (Ah, they are these)
2. They don't need great range, we are talking maybe 20'-30' feet from the amp tops, it's basically on the patio right behind the living room.


Surely, there are far better options out there.

Alas, that's what I thought. No such thing. At least I can say I tried.

Wireless means they have to have their own amplifiers and own power sources, which means they're going to suck. You expect them to run on batteries? If not, you're going to have to plug them in somewhere. Just run wires, it's not that hard.
