Wireless signal dropping

Wireless signal drops on and off. Signal is 3 green bars out of 5, and am about 30 feet away from the wireless router with a few rooms in between. Any way to increase the signal or improve wireless performance?
 
if you're using a 802.11b card on a 802.11g router, go into the router menu and make it use only b signals instead of g and b.

Make sure u point the antenna at each other on the router and card and try switching channels.
