Wireless Security - WEP/WPA

I am trying to secure my wireless network and I have tried WEP and WPA setting on my router but laptop never can connect sees the network but just cannot connect. I am using a Linksys WRK54G (similar to the WRT54G) and the newest firmware. I am using MAC filter and not advertising the SSID but I need more.

Suggestions from other Linksys owners???

What about backing up and adding one variable at a time? Enable a WEP password, but disable the MAC filtering and allow SSID broadcasting. If you are able to connect, then enable the other security measures one a at a time.

Research your firmware version, some firmwares have been broken with WPA.

Try open first, then WPA-PSK.

OK I have did a little testing. I enabled SSID broadcast and turned back off the MAC filtering. Still no go. I can connect from the laptop to the router using WPA-PSK and I put in the key and it sits and spins and never negotiates.

This is really ticking me off. I have even checked Linksys's site and my firmware is up to date. I am using a WRK54G.
