I just hooked up a wireless netgear router w/a 4 port switch (mr814v2) into my wired network. I also have a wireless card for my laptop. I went thru the router and enable 128 bit wep, did the wireless card access list. Is there anything else I need to do for more security? I thought I read somewhere about turning SSID off so it is not bradcasting. Is this true ?

Also the wired network is behind a Linksys router. On the wireless router I disable the DHCP ( was told to do this so I could see the wired network). I can go online no problem but cannot see the wired network. The ips and subnets are different. I did the ipconfig release and renew and cannot not set the ip cause that would scew up my cable modem Can anyone help w/ this Thank you

Well, you could just use the wireless router for your only router, that would be the easy way.

If you insist on using both, disable DHCP server on the wireless router, and connect one of it's LAN ports to one of the LAN ports on the other system. Do not plug ANYTHING into the WAN port on the wireless router.
