Wireless routers bridging or range extending??

Okay I have this very general question I want to know if it's possible. I'm currently using a Linksys router ver 3. It's hook to my DSL modem and to my comp by wire in living room. I've update firmware on it to ver 4.0.7 I remember. The signal in my bedroom is low. Can I use the Belkin or the Netgear to extend the range. In other words, my comp in bedroom and other rooms connect to the Belkin/Netgear instead and these 2 routers boost the signal to the Linksys outside. The Belkin I have is F5D7231-4 ver 1102. The Netgear is WGR614 ver 6. I know the Linksys, this ver with 3rd party firmware can be used a a bridge/repeater/range extender or whatever you call it. So should I try it the other way instead? The Belkin or Netgear in living room and the Linksys in bedroom? Thanks in advance for all advices.
