Wireless Router to Router setup help

Heres the situation.

Want to set up a computer upstairs with tivo networked. And a computer downstairs. We have DSL running downstairs to the modem and computer. Would like to place a wireless router downstairs for that, hook up that computer via cat5 cable out of the wireless router.

Upstairs would like to have another wireless router to get data upstairs via the first router, then hook up tivo and computer wired from the wireless router. Is this the way to do it?

My problem is getting a connection upstairs, without wires.

I was just reading that. That should work well then? Or should I get an access point? since I do not have routers purchased yet.

Ok that one really didnt help me. Im thinking I need two wireless routers where the first router acts as a gateway to the second router. Which I would wire up tivo and the computer...sound correct?

Two Wireless Routers can not connect Wirelessly. I.e., the Wireless Router Upstairs will not talk to the One Downstairs.

If you want one Wireless Router to act as a Gateway to a second Router you need to connect them with a Cable Regular port to Regular Port.

If you want to Bridge Wirelessly you need a Client Access Point (D-Link 900AP+ etc.)

You plug the AP, the TIVO, and the Upstairs computer to a switch, and the AP will get the signal from the first Wireless Router.

oh man...sounds like more work then just buying a wireless card for the tivo and wireless card for the PC...
