Hello,

Quick question:

-If network security is an important consideration, should I forget about wireless altogether ?

-Can a wireless router ever be considered as secure as a wired one?

Thanks

If security is a Real Must forget Entry Level Wireless.

Cisco has a line of propriety Wireless that is more secure and much more expensive.

Yup, I had a bad feeling this might be the answer.
I guess there are no nifty tricks discovered yet to turn a wireless network as secure as a wired one.

To make a bad thing worse, the added volnerability is on top of the inherent security problems of (always-on) cable connections.

Thanks for the reply.

If you create a seperate wireless lan, for surfing only, that is OK. Takes a little know how to set it up, and you should not put any critical stuff on that network segment.
I will be doing that with a second NIC in my firewall box.
